HOW TO CLEAN YOUR AIR CONDITIONING VENTS?
- Vacuum cleaner
- Brush
- Screwdriver
- Cleaning cloth or paper
- Furnace filter
2) You can start by shutting down the power to your air conditioner. This way, your air conditioner won’t kick on when you start to clean it. Therefore, it will not be blowing dust everywhere.
3) You have to vacuum the vent cover with the brush attachment to clean off the furry dust. By unscrewing the vent cover, you can remove it if it is screwed in place. If the vent is on the floor of your home, then you only need to pull the vent cover straight up from the duct.
4) The next step is to soak the vent cover in warm and soapy water if any dirt won’t be coming off immediately. Try to keep soaking until the dirt loosens. The easiest way is to wipe the cover down with a wet rag.
5) Any little tool can be used to clean between the slats of the vent cover. The device can be a pipe cleaner, a soft cotton swab, or a narrow soft brush.
6) Try to dry the vent cover slats manually, with the help of a thin rag or even a hairdryer. This can work if the hairdryer is turned to a hot setting, which will be preventing water from pooling.
